新兴电器庆祝第100家分店,捐赠育智华小母校40台电脑。

SHOUTS of “yam seng” reverberated throughout the hall as suppliers and top management staff members toasted to Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd reaching its 100th mark of consumer electronics retail outlets in Malaysia.
After 19 years of operation, Senheng has grown from its humble beginnings as a half shoplot at Pandan Jaya in 1989, to having a retail footprint via its Senheng and senQ outlets throughout Malaysia.
Senheng managing director Lim Kim Heng thanked all the company’s customers and said without their support, they would not have made it so far.

“We are continuously expanding to better serve our customers, hence the theme Surpassing 100…to Serve you Better.
“We want to reach out to smaller townships so that people there can enjoy better quality products at reasonable prices,” he said.
Lim regaled guests at the celebratory dinner with Senheng’s history, including its beginnings, human resource development, operations strategies and marketing campaigns.
The three brothers who helm Senheng – Lim, Kim Chieng and Kim Yew - also sponsored 40 Hewlett Packard computers to their alma mater, SJK (C) Yuk Chih in Batang Berjuntai.
This, along with past projects like orphanage adoption as well as donations to local charities and the Sichuan Earthquake fund, is part of Senheng’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
“This is just a token of appreciation to our school, especially to our teachers and headmaster, who helped mould us to become what we are today,” said Lim.
“We’d also like to give back to society, particularly to the younger generation, as we believe it is essential for them to be exposed to the essential skills of information technology.”

He added that the company’s future plans would be to expand to over 200 quality retail outlets within the next five years, and to actively look out for retail partners overseas, specifically in the Asia Pacific region.
The dinner programme included a sharing session by Senheng’s top three suppliers, as well as a session by three staff members on how they have grown with the company.
